The main objective or aim is to create awareness of health promotion & disease prevention among the young brains by engaging them in an activity integrated to fundraising

What is this contest about?

The contest is about designing an info-calendar.

What is an info-calendar? How is it different from a calendar?

A calendar is a chart or series of pages showing the days, weeks and months of a particular year, or a system of organizing days for social, religious, commercial, or administrative purposes

An info-calendar is a calendar with additional  important information - "info stands for information". The information can be about health & wellness, scientific advancements, noble persons, historical moments, inventions & discoveries, inspiring and motivating words/captions etc..

What is the importance of info-calendar?

It serves as a poster which provide useful information that needs to be registered in our minds. As the information is shared/ represented with colorful & meaningful images, memorizing will be easy & effortless. 

Why is this contest ?

1. At an individual perspective - there is an old saying 

"If I listen - I forget.....

                If I see - I remember.....

                                        If I do - I learn"

With the theme on Health promotion & disease prevention, by engaging the young brains in this activity, they get educated, empowered and enlightened in healthy life style.

It also assess their creativity, imagination

How is it conducted?

Step 1 - Registration 

Step 2 - Designing - Select a topic from the themes mentioned below and assign a title. Prepare the content you wish to share. Add appropriate images and the names of the group members. Design an info-calendar including dates by drawing or painting or power point computer graphics

Step 3 - Submission of soft copy in both PDF & JPG/PNG formats

Step 4 - Selection of  the best designs (by a team of doctors of Mysore Medical College & Research Institute)

Step 5 - Best one in each category will be finalized and  presented with  trophies

*All the participants will get participation certificate.

**Calendars  can be Single Sheet or Bimonthly or Quarterly. They can be wall hanging or table mounted.

When is it conducted?

Registrations from November 1st to November 21st.

Submission of designs in soft copy from 23rd November to 30th.

Announcement of best designs selected on December 5th

What are the themes?

There are 5 themes -

1. Communicable diseases, prevention & healthy (hygiene) habits.

2. Non-Communicable diseases, prevention & healthy life Style.

3. Prevention of Depression & promotion of Mental Health.

4. Integral health, Integral Yoga & Integral Medicine

5. Prevention of Birth defects & Proper care of pregnant women.

   * One has to select one theme and plan a topic in that theme, eg., if one selects      "theme 2 - Non-Communicable diseases, prevention & healthy life Style" - they can select - healthy life style or healthy diets or different physical exercises or different yoga postures or just Sun Salutations etc., or just elaborate what non-communicable diseases constitute

** The content may be beyond "prevention" to "management" if the primary participant or one of the group members belongs to medical stream.
